All right, all you ladies who push your style aside because you’re too dang busy just trying to get your kids or your partner or yourself out the door in the morning – the Fastionista is here to ease your style fear.

Whether you’re in the mood for a touch of faux fur in an accessory, or an all-over faux fur coat, there’s no denying that the look is very chic, and the best part is that it’s entirely humane. Faux fur has come into its own over the past decade, and the look is totally hot this fall. So here’s what’s in my closet today:

· Open-Front, Draped Jacket with Faux Fur Collar: All-over faux fur jackets rock, like this one from Fabulous Furs.com. But the afternoons are still a little too warm for me to wear something this toasty, so I’ll save that jacket to heat up another outfit when the weather gets even cooler. Today, I’ll wear my russet-brown draped jacket that sports a tuft of faux fur at the collar. The jacket is technically outerwear, but it’s light enough to use as my outfit’s completer piece. Of course, now I need an outfit to complete…

· Red Dress with a Swishy A-Line Skirt: Bringing red in highlights the season’s hue du jour and also starts your weekend with a colorful bang. With a V-neck top and an A-line bottom that doesn’t skimp on the material, my red dress sets the draping effect that my jacket will echo: Remember to not just complement colors within your outfits, but complement cut as well.

· Accessories: And the gloves are on! My digits are getting chilly in the morning, so I’ll wear navy blue driving gloves outside, with a funky chunky gold and navy blue bracelet over my left glove (sadly, I’ll need to wear the bracelet sans gloves once I’m at my desk, of course, otherwise anything I type will look like thhjiuds). Since I’ve got the fur collar, I’m going to count that as my final accessory. Even when I take the gloves off I’ll have a good amount of visual interest going on with this outfit.

· Purse: It wouldn’t be Friday if I didn’t allow a little crazy into my outfit, so today I’ll carry a faux fur clutch that matches the brown tuft around my collar. Plus, a clutch like this makes the transition from office to cocktails quite nicely.

· SHOES!: Navy blue pumps will do, I think. They’ll pick up the blue in my bracelet and in my gloves once I put themn bvascdk opmn…oops, sorry, I got excited and tried those gloves on a little too early there...

Voila! There you have it: great fashion fast. And you, gorgeous lady, are ready to take on the world, Fastionista Style!

Style Quik Tip

Navy blue or navy green make great alternatives to neutrals like brown, black, grey, or white, and because they’re all neutral, they all go together. Gray and navy green go together, as do black and navy blue. But remember that neutral-on-neutral does not an outfit make: If the only elements you have going on in an outfit are a navy color with another neutral, you haven’t really incorporated Color yet. Add a splash of red, bright blue, yellow, pink, whatever to give some pop to your bottom or top.

The Fastionista Wants To Know…

Especially on Fridays, my style needs to be:

  • Comfy – I deserve it after a long week
  • Bold – I want to stay memorable through the weekend
  • Versatile – Office to club in sixty seconds or less
