Today’s Outfit Idea: Dash & Dazzle Cami & Cardi

By

All right, all you ladies who push your style aside because you’re too dang busy just trying to get your kids or your partner or yourself out the door in the morning – the Fastionista is here to ease your style fear.

Since Monday mornings just seem dead set on being the craziest day of The Fastionista’s week no matter how much I try to prepare for them, I need to move even quicker than normal to get my outfit together: anything complicated can wait until Tuesday. So here’s what’s in my closet today:

· Neutral Pencil Skirt: Here’s our starter piece. Mine is solid black, because I’m going to be working in pattern, color, and shine in my other pieces. If you have a pencil skirt in another neutral color (browns, grey, white, navy blue, or navy green), that works too.

· Silky Cami: And here comes that color and pattern. My cami is a soft pink, with an abstract-print chiffon overlay that incorporates some cream and beige. The great thing about a solid neutral bottom is that virtually any top can go with it. Need something even quicker than this for a manic Monday? Try a great 2-in-1 pencil skirt and polka dot cami dress.

· Cropped Cardigan: My beige cardi picks up the pattern in my cami, and it’s a lighter alternative to a black dress jacket (which would work just fine, of course, with the black pencil skirt). This season, sweaters are all about extremes: they’re either cropped right at the waistline or they’re sweater dresses.

· Accessories: Today I’ll wear a cream-colored lightweight scarf, but not in the traditional way. Instead, I’ll drape it through the straps on my purse to create some visual interest that’s a little off the beaten path. A chunky gold bracelet and flower-shaped gold ring will finish off my accessories (bracelets and rings slip on easily: Monday is not a day for The Fastionista to deal with clasps or earring backings).

· Purse: For an extra kick of color I’ll use my light purple shopper today: it has a good amount of material to its body and shoulder straps to drape my scarf around, while still letting its lovely lilac color shine through.

· SHOES!: I’ll slip right into a tweed kitten heel with black trim and, m’row, I’m on my way. At least I’m not running late because of my outfit!

Voila! There you have it: great fashion fast. And you, gorgeous lady, are ready to take on the world, Fastionista Style!
